SEPARATION

I always wonder why a man will automatically assume that when a woman says I am through with this marriage, it means we are now enemies; I find this peculiar to Nigerian men; most times, when a spouse says I am through with this marriage the next thing the spouse does is take the kids, becomes aggressive toward the woman, assumes she does not love him or hates him with a passion when a woman says I am through, it doesn't mean she hates you, love doesn't die in one day, for crying out loud there is something called we are not compatible and irreconcilable differences. Most men even go as far as thinking you are leaving them for another man. Lol, I am not saying love doesn't go out of marriages, but most times, some couples leave their spouses for so many reasons.

Many married people live like strangers in their homes; they have nothing in common other than the beautiful children God Almighty gave them. They pretend to be the happiest couple in front of family and friends. Most people will say that they dated for so many months or years before getting married, so they knew what she was getting into. I agree; still, love, they say, is blind, and time changes everything, believe me, people change with time for better or for worse.

Some couples are better of as friends, and it takes a strong woman to say babes, can we talk? This relationship is not working. Let's go our separate ways; like I always say, if it's not working, it's not working. There is no need to pretend and live a life of unhappiness; if you are unhappy in your marriage, take a bold step and call it a day.
